The Master Painters
Institute is an emerging institute dedicated to the establishment
of quality standards and quality assurance in the painting
and coating application industries in the U.S.A. and Canada.
The Master Painters Institute has developed
a password-protected, online website that allows MPI internet
subscribers full access to either the MPI Architectural Painting
Specification Manual or the MPI Maintenance Repainting Manual,
and the MPI Approved Products List. The Master Painters Institute
strives to maintain the highest quality of technical information.
The information contained in the MPI manuals and the MPI Approved
Products List is, to the best of our knowledge, correct and
appropriate for guidance purposes at the time of latest edition.
The MPI Architectural Painting Specification
Manual and the MPI Maintenance Repainting Manual, and their
component sections, are presented solely for the guidance
of the user(s) of these manuals. MPI does not claim that the
systems or products referred to have any greater validity
than systems or commercial products not contained herein.
It must be understood that the MPI Architectural Painting
Specification Manual and the MPI Maintenance Repainting Manual
do not claim to include all products and all systems. Products
and/or systems that are considered ‘too new’ to
have sufficient field application length of experience are
not considered for inclusion. Further, products and/or systems
that are so specific as to be available from only one manufacturer
are not normally considered for inclusion. We are aware of
other excellent products and systems, which for various reasons
are not listed. The standards are conservative so that qualified
personnel with varying degrees of training can benefit form
the information herein.
In all cases local technical advice should be
sought, as MPI accepts no liability for the appropriateness
of the content. MPI disclaims any and all liability and responsibility
attendant to its use or misuse. MPI reserves the right to
modify data without notice. Since conditions of application
and service are beyond our control, no liability can be accepted
on the basis of this data. The responsibility for determining
the requirements of a particular jurisdiction remains with
the contractor, the manufacturer, and the specifier. The systems
and product listings are under constant review – users
are urged to ensure that their manual(s) contain the most
recent update. The MPI website will contain a current
update notice (with date of revision)
whenever a change is made.
For just $90.00 dollars per manual, MPI
website subscribers have singular unlimited access to either
of the MPI manual(s), and the MPI Approved Product List for
a term of (1) one year. You will be notified two months in
advance of your registration expiry. If you do not renew,
your password will be de-activated on your expiry date.
